The pool and bespoke pool house were conceived from the idea of introducing and addressing the absence of a designated entertainer’s space. By constructing the pool house the owners avoided the need to undergo any major renovations to the existing compromised house.
The pool house was designed and built to be a year round functional space. In summer the sliding doors open up and the external shutters at either end capture the best of the bay breezes and cross ventilation to keep the space cool. In winter the pool house can be sealed up and the functional fire place kicks in.
The pool and pool house were designed and built on a restricted sloping site. It was styled in a blend of traditional and French Provincial to tie in with the existing house. The eclectic fixtures and finishes that were installed were a mix of new and second hand materials and products.
